Prayer focus for this week

S and N Update

S. has now finished chemotherapy, praise God! She had a scan on 22nd August which showed that the latest course of treatment had been much more successful and all of the tumours in her liver have shrunk, the largest by as much as 70 or 80%. This is fantastic news and we thank the Lord for His healing touch. The consultant is really pleased and his recommendation is that S. continues to receive intravenous herceptin (a hormone treatment) every three weeks. This will inhibit any further tumour growth, as least for a while, and may even encourage them to shrink some more!

The doctors’ expectation is that while the drugs may prolong S.’s life, the cancer will claim it sooner or later. HOWEVER, we are continuing to dare to believe that God wants to and will heal her completely, based on the promises in His Word and on what we know of the character and power of Jesus Christ. We are feeling quite weary, after nine long months, but we are determined to hold on to God and He is so faithful to us, we believe we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. We are looking forward to the events at Latimer Park, we are planning to visit Bath City Church in October and in November we are attending the “Under an Open Heaven” conference in Maidenhead with Bill Johnson.Lots of opportunities to meet with God, soak in His Glory and experience His power.

Points for prayer:

For the veins in S.’s arm as she continues to have intravenous treatments and        injections during scans. Please pray that God would protect them from            damage and      that the arm would be free from pain and that the needles would go in easily,   first time!

That we will meet with God in a new and powerful way as we attend these different conferences and that He will do the impossible and heal S.

That He will strengthen and sustain us when we are weary and sad.

That our children would know that Jesus loves them and is looking after us all         and that they would feel able to voice their worries and concerns and that God   would give us wisdom to respond to them well.
