Capacity attendance at King’s Church football awards
Another successful year for the Kings Church football club was marked by a packed attendance for the end of season award ceremony. The afternoon event marked the 10th annual end of season celebration for the Club.
Guest of honour was Simon Church, who recently signed as a young professional at Reading Football Club and spent a period last season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.
Fresh from his successes on the field, Simon was on hand in the packed church building in Amersham Old Town on Sunday afternoon to make the presentations to all players (and coaches) of the 16 squads that currently make up the King’s Church Football Club. Tremendous applause greeted each squad of players as Simon handed out the end of season awards to each player and also the individual trophies in each squad for the Player’s Player, Top Goal-scorer and the much coveted “Most Improved Player” of the season. Special mention was made of the Cup and League Winners and Runners Up for the Club’s U13’s, U12’s and two of the U10 squads.
Senior Coach, Peter Hoar, said “We needed to add an extra 4 squads this
season compared to the previous year due to the amazing demand for places to join the Club. We just seem to go from strength to strength. I am so grateful to all the coaches and parents who give up so much of their time to help run the teams, ranging from 5-6 year olds right through to the senior squad, and in making it the successful Club that it is. We also grateful to Chiltern District Council for its continued financial support and also to HSBC and the local firm Amersham Dec”.
Senior Pastor Paul Lynch said after the presentations “I thought the room was going to burst with the sheer number of players and parents here this year. The applause each squad received was really uplifting as they came forward to receive their awards. I am so pleased the Church put its name to such a developing community activity through local football and also to host this fantastic end of season event.”

Love in Action
This year's love in action was another wonderful day, just as much fun as
last year .... and yet again a formation fly-past courtesy of the Queen !! On a beautiful sunny day residents of Park Place enjoyed bbq, face painting, cakes and sweets, bouncy castle, wood turning, coconut shy and many other activities provided jointly by Kings Church Amersham and Amersham Vineyard. A day thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Amersham Carnival
What a wonderful day for the 2009 carnival on Saturday - a very well-attended event and the weather, though hreatening at times, stayed fine.
Kings Church shared a pitch with Amersham Vineyard Church. You could easily spot our pitch by the wonderful cross made out of blue balloons so expertly created by Mark Warren and standing like a beacon at the front providing an excellent pointer.
What better place for David Moulster, Michael Nussbaum and Anna Priestley to sing and play worship songs to the Lord for the blessing of the community. We gave away hundreds of Kings Church balloons (possibly thousands - better ask Peter Revel) and interacted with the people of Amersham for the afternoon.
Amersham Vineyard wood turning was as popular as ever with the children of Amersham. So many people helped - you know who you are - thank you.
